General Dental Council, UK (GDC)

Dr Mark is a registered member of the General Dental Council (UK) which is a prerequisite of practicing dentistry in UK. Although it is not required in the Turk & Caicos Islands, wherever relevant at Mark Osmond Dental Clinic we chose to adhere to the same standards as set by the GDC. To this end we hope to reassure our patients as to the standard of treatment and the quality of care that we provide.

Below is a short excerpt from the GDC website. For further information, please click www.gdc-uk.org.

GDC | Protecting patients, regulating the dental team

What we do
Our role is to protect the public by regulating dental professionals. All dentists, dental nurses, dental technicians, clinical dental technicians, dental hygienists, dental therapists and orthodontic therapists must be registered with us to work in the UK.

We do this by:
— Registering qualified dental professionals
— Setting and enforcing standards of dental practice and conduct
— Protecting the public from illegal practice
— Assuring the quality of dental education
— Ensuring professionals keep their knowledge and skills up to date
— Investigating and acting upon complaints received about fitness to practise
